Hüseyin Sarı studied Geological Engineering in Turkey and double majored in Construction Management and Project Management at the University of California, Berkeley. He was determined to pursue a career in filmmaking.
He was the Assistant Director for Poker Face, an award-winning movie at the 2010 3C Media Solutions in California. He wrote, directed and produced a short film I Was Warned, which received numerous international awards in 2012 and 2013. Hüseyin Sarı is the founder of BerkeleyFilmMaker (BFM) - a production company committed to making innovative work in the area of independent filmmaking.
Huseyin has been collaborating with the Academy Award-nominated filmmaker Judith Ehrlich on various projects. He worked as a line producer on "The Invisible Man: CIA Whistleblower Jeffrey Sterling" in 2015. He also worked as a line producer, the second editor and the technical director on “The Boys who Said NO!” - a documentary film about an organization of young men and women who refused to cooperate with conscription in order to end the draft and the Vietnam war. The central characters are David Harris and Joan Baez. Also, he is co-producing “The Mouse That Roared” with Judith Ehrlich. “The Mouse That Roared” tells the story of Iceland’s struggle to become a global haven for free speech in the 21st Century. This tiny sovereign island nation aspires to offer legal protection for digital communication to the world. THE MOUSE THAT ROARED follows former Iceland’s Pirate Party leader Birgitta Jónsdóttir, hacking the political system to create a new paradigm of citizen-empowered governance.
